Welcome to the Upper Krust

The Upper Krust is the reality of many hopes, dreams and prayers. It’s a result of the talents and efforts of three unique individuals who took a good idea, did some research and analysis and started a business the old fashioned way, from scratch.

Did you ever wonder where the phrase “upper crust” originated? It comes from a time when breads and pastries were baked in hearth side ovens or Dutch ovens. Sometimes the bottom of the bread would be too well done or perhaps it had a little too much ash residue baked into the finished product.

Household servants or shop keepers trimmed off the crispy parts and kept the best part for the guests or sold it to the elite of society. It didn’t take too long for the wealthy people to be referred to as the “upper crust”, in reference to their preference for the best of everything.

All of the items served here are made from choicest ingredients. All of our pies, soups and sandwiches are made fresh daily, from favorite recipes, tried and true.
